Jason Hao, Prof / 郝吉顺 教授

Dr. Ji Shun Hao graduated from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1982, and obtained a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the same university in 1987. From 1991 to 1992, he pursued a doctoral program in physiology at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2003, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Phoenix University in the United States, and from 2014 to 2016, he studied film directing and cinematography at Santa Fe Art University. In 1987, he served as the coordinator and translator at the First World Acupuncture Federation Congress in Beijing. In 1989, Dr. Ji Shun Hao became the first teacher sent by Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to teach and conduct research in the United States.
Professor Ji Shun Hao currently serves as the chief editor and main translator of the core textbook “Acupuncture” for the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Vice Chairman of the Education Guidance Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, Vice President of the Translation Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and President of the American Institute of Neuroacupuncture. Dr. Ji Shun Hao has previously served as the chairman of the Acupuncture Committee of the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Examination Committee of the United States, an examiner for the New Mexico Traditional Medicine Examination Committee, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Southwest College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the principal of the New Mexico Chinese School, and an editor for English magazines such as “Discovery”, “Alternative Therapies”, and “Global Health and Medical Advances”. Dr. Ji Shun Hao is a world-renowned expert in scalp acupuncture.
Since 1991, Professor Hao has conducted nearly a hundred lectures on scalp acupuncture for Chinese and Western medical doctors in Australia, Germany, Denmark, Canada, Dubai, and various cities in the United States including Washington, New York, San Francisco, Orlando, San Diego, Seattle, Denver, and Houston, training thousands of scalp acupuncture professionals. Dr. Hao has been interviewed and featured in several American newspapers, radio stations, and magazines for his scalp acupuncture treatment of difficult diseases, including the Washington Military Medical Newspaper “Stars and Stripes”, “Alternative Therapies” magazine, Fox News Radio, Global Dragon TV, and the New Mexico Journal, among others. In 2015 and 2016, Dr. Hao represented the Chinese medicine community at the first National Integrated Medicine Congress in San Diego and the Global Integrated Medicine Congress in Germany, where he presented on scalp acupuncture treatment for paralysis and cerebral palsy.
Dr. Ji Shun Hao’s English monograph “Scalp Acupuncture Therapy in China” was published in the United States in 2011 and distributed worldwide. In 2012, Dr. Hao authored Chapter 19, “Scalp Acupuncture Treatment of Pain”, for the English edition of the clinical book “Clinical Pain Management”. In 2013, Fudan University Press published “Basic English Course for Traditional Chinese Medicine” co-authored by Dr. Ji Shun Hao and Liu Ming. In 2017, he authored Chapter 11, “Neuroacupuncture Treatment of Neurological Disorders”, for the English edition of “The Scientific Basis of Integrated Medicine”. Dr. Ji Shun Hao has been interviewed and featured in several American newspapers, radio stations, and magazines for his scalp acupuncture treatment of stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, phantom limb pain, cerebral palsy, autism, and other difficult diseases. In recognition of Dr. Hao’s outstanding contributions to the local economy and culture, the mayor of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the capital of the state, designated the Spring Festival of 2018 as Dr. Hao Day. The documentary “Rebirth,” directed and produced by director and producer Dagodils, featuring Dr. Ji Shun Hao and Shi Lingzhi, premiered and was released online in the United States in May 2021.
Jason Jishun Hao is editor in chief and translator in chief for the textbook ACUPUNCTURE AND MOXIBUSTION published by World Federacy of Chinese Medicine Society. Jason Hao currently serves as the vice-chairman for the education guiding committee at World Federacy of Chinese Medicine Society. Jason Hao is the president of the Neuro-acupuncture Institute in the USA. He was former chairman of the acupuncture committee in the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is the co-author of the book, Chinese Scalp Acupuncture.
Jason Hao has been practicing and researching scalp acupuncture for 40 years and has been teaching classes and seminars in the USA and Europe since 1989, Hao gave a scalp acupuncture seminar at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington DC where he successfully demonstrated scalp acupuncture treatment of CRPS and phantom pain for veterans. Jason Hao specializes in treating neurological disorders, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, cerebral palsy, autism, complex regional pain, phantom pain, and long COVID-19 disorders. Many America newspapers, journals, televisions reported his successful cases and stories in past 30 years. The documentary film by Doug Dearth on him and his wife, Linda Hao’s treatment “RETURN TO LIFE” is released on May, 2021.
