The Superficial Key to Lumbopelvic Pain: Mechanisms and Clinical Essentials of Superficial Acupuncture for Knot-Relieving Technique

Lumbopelvic pain is one of the most common chronic pain syndromes in clinical practice, often originating from latent fascial knots and superficial fascial tension imbalances in the quadratus lumborum, gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and thoracolumbar fascia. While traditional deep needling can be effective, the complex anatomy of the lumbopelvic region carries certain risks. This lecture focuses on the core principle of the Superficial Acupuncture for Knot-Relieving Technique — "superficial intervention, deep effect" — and draws upon modern fascia chain theory and neuroreflex mechanisms to explain the scientific basis for rapidly relieving abnormal tension in the lumbopelvic region, improving local circulation, and restoring movement patterns. The talk will emphasize precise localization of common "knot points" in the lumbopelvic area, needling angle control, and tactile feedback during release. Clinical case studies will be used to demonstrate the standardized application and therapeutic advantages of this technique for lumbar strain, sciatica, and chronic pelvic-related low back pain, providing attendees with a safe, effective, and easy-to-learn acupuncture solution for lumbopelvic pain.
