Dr. Diana Tong Li is the founder and president of the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM), the vice president of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), and the president of the Nova Scotia chapter of CMAAC. Dr. Diana Tong Li is an executive committee member of the World Federation of the Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), the vice chairman of Psychosomatic Medicine Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Societies (WFCMS). Vice President of Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleges of Canada.
Together with Dr. Chen, Dr. Li established her first career college, Canadian College of Natural Medicine (CCNM), in 1998 after 10 years of teaching certificate courses. CCNM focused on offering diplomas in Chinese Acupressure massage and Swedish massage therapy. In 2008, CCNM changed its name to Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM). CCATCM is a government approved career college purely focused on promoting Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Its purpose is to train more qualified practitioners of acupuncture and TCM to face the increased demand within the rapidly growing industry. To date, CCATCM has trained hundreds of qualified Acupuncture practitioners who practice in Canada, USA, and other countries. Dr. Li has also worked with Dr. Chen to publish several specialized English textbooks on Acupuncture and TCM. Dr. Li and Dr. Chen offer signature acupuncture and acupressure courses not found anywhere else.
Dr. Li is well-respected in the local medical community for her passion and success in establishing the first clinic dedicated to acupuncture and TCM in Atlantic Canada. She has helped thousands of patients with a broad array of conditions. As a result of her more than 30-year history of conception, healing, and success in Canada, Dr. Li is an established expert on acupuncture and TCM and is frequently sought-after for interviews. With her public education and efforts, despite her busy schedule, Dr. Li often dedicates herself to a variety of media organizations, such as CBC, ATV, The Chronicle Herald, Chatelaine, and Global News. Dr. Li’s expertise has led to the publishing of many clinical research papers on the topics of acupuncture and TCM, treatment of pain, addiction, mental health conditions, and more.
By the end of this training program, participants should be able to understand the history, theory, clinical practice and research of Traditional Chinese cosmetic acupuncture and TCM Facial Rejuvenation; master the location of Dr. Li’s signature cosmetic acupuncture points and areas and Dr. Li’s signature acupuncture needling techniques, and clinical applications; design and implement special cosmetic acupuncture and TCM Facial Rejuvenation treatment methods for facial lifting and wrinkle removal; improve patients’ facial appearance.
For thousands of years, TCM has known that beauty comes from the inside out. That means the color and luster of the face reflects our internal organs being balanced, regulated and working in harmony.
This course will teach participants how to create internal harmony that brightens the look of skin, facial radiance and removes wrinkles according to TCM practices. Clients will have the result of a more vibrant and youthful face. The one-day course includes lectures, treatment demonstrations and guided practical experience to facilitate learning and empower practitioners with many tools to give a profound treatment.
In this Lever 1 course, you will learn point selection and special needling techniques for facial lifting, and fine lines/wrinkles removal. Also taught will be how to do a deep, healing, Signature Acupressure face massage, acupuncture points to stimulate qi and blood in the face and neck areas, to incorporate into your treatment protocols.
This Facial Rejuvenation-Cosmetic Acupuncture course will be taught by Dr. Diana Tong Li and/or Dr. Frankly Chen, both with over 40 years of clinical experience and a PhD in Acupuncture. In this course, you will learn:
This one-day course features a special facial acupuncture practicum where students will learn about needle direction, reason of placement, indication, cautions and needle size/placement. Learn to heal from the inside out with facial acupuncture techniques built on TCM.
Requirements: Acupuncturist or Acupuncture Diploma Program student
Materials Required: Headband, facial serum, facial cleansing liquid, facial cleansing pads, one box of alcohol pads, one box of 0.20 to 0.22 by 25 mm acupuncture needles, one box of facial acupuncture needles, one box of 0.12 to 0.16 by 15 mm facial acupuncture needles, one box of 0.16 by 5mm facial acupuncture needles, tweezers. Some items can be purchased from us at the workshop, or you can bring your own. Also, please bring one set of the following items: a clinic sheet, a patient gown, and a pillow.
